About the Supply Chain Game
Description
In a substantive way, it prepares teams for supply chain analysis and optimization.
When one is concerned about the success of a project and wants to combine the interests of sales, planning, procurement and purchasing, customer service, logistics, production, distribution centers, and take into account the limitations of suppliers - a simulation tool that covers the entire supply chain comes in handy.
The goal of the game
Simulate the implementation or withdrawal of a new product and learn about the effects of implementation errors on the supply chain. Look at the process of delivering an order to a customer through the lens of the entire supply chain.
.The flow of the Supply Chain game
The game consists of 5 rounds, during which participants diagnose problems, improve the supply chain based on a system of financial, logistic and operational indicators. During the game it is possible to simulate the implementation or withdrawal of a new product and learn about the effects of implementation errors on the supply chain.
Participants in successive rounds refine and then standardize material and information flows in the whole supply chain according to the types and parameters of individual order fulfillment. In doing so, they stick to prioritizing the metrics of the entire supply chain to prevent local optimizations for individual links and consequent disruptions in the supply chain.
Process
The game includes the roles of all the necessary units in the supply chain (suppliers, production, procurement, logistics, planning, warehouses, customer service, distribution centers, customer). Products with different levels of turnover are included in the game: from systematically rotating products to those on a specific customer order.
During the game, participants detect and analyze problems that have occurred and, based on these, make improvements to improve the supply chain. They are assisted in these processes by a system of carefully developed financial and logistics indicators.
